Edited: took a few months, I believe due to some possible turnover at the dealership, but I got ahold of Bruce at Oakes KIA, and he took care of us promptly. Due to his exceptional customer care, I’ve now changed my review to a “5”. As stated below, sales and service are top notch. Original review: Sadly, I must say that Veterans should look elsewhere to buy a car. I was promised a $500 KIA Veteran rebate. Since buying the new KIA Sportage Hybrid a few months ago, we've just gotten the runaround. Sad that a dealer would do this to Veterans. We love the new KIA, and the service Department at Oakes KIA is the best - simply awesome. But, I was lied to about the Veteran rebate, and that is unfortunate.

Stephen was absolutely amazing to work with and we highly recommend Oakes Kia! We had a time crunch to get our son a car before he went back to college and Stephen made it so smooth and seamless and we were able to drive away with the car that night (Stephen even stayed 2 hours later than usual to help us). Kevin Roth was an excellent representative of Oakes Kia. My problem was the finance person using my city as my street and I didn’t catch it as he went too fast. However, Karen Suarez corrected the next week when I was back in to get more info from Kevin on the tech side of car. Karen was kind and reassuring that address was corrected. I’d give her highest rating along with Kevin. Not sure exactly what Meagan had to do with my purchase other than introducing herself. I was told that someone from service would contact me and so far that has not happened. I got a survey from them on recent service which I responded to that the only service I’d received was when Kevin put the correct amount of air in my tires. I will be making another appointment with Kevin to go over more features once weather is good. I’m hoping for a long and satisfactory experience with Oakes, especially since I bought the 5 year service plan and 10 year bumper to bumper warranty. Will someone from service be contacting me to set appointment for first oil change in 5-6 months??

I have bought and sold more than 200 cars in my lifetime and I have purchased many many vehicles at dealerships. Once in a while you run across a dealership that really is a pleasure to di business with. I have bought from 3 other kia dealers, but never Oakes. It was nice to have a honest transaction at a place that was not predatory and that would rather make a deal that was acceptable to the customer rather than trying to bully their way into the customers pocket with front end xx products and fake xx discounts that you "don't qualify for". Nobody appreciates that and it's a horrible way to treat a customer. They found a way to get me what I wanted for my trade by using rebates and vehicle discount rather than haggling with me to get the very most they could have. That's a good way to do business and I will certainly go there first for my next Kia purchase. Also, my sales person was very friendly and didn't try to use even one annoying word track sales approach with me.

I made the drive from Columbia Missouri all the way to north KC to get my new Kia. I had been disappointed with the Kia brand because my local dealer sales and service teams have been disappointing... But what a refreshing surprise it was to work with Oakes Kia and Dom Taibi. From the get-go I told him my price point. And my family wants and needs. Dom put the work for us and worked for me. Not for a bonus, not for a dealer. For my price point and my needs. His knowledge of the product and the financial tools available to us was fantastic and him and his team came through with a great offer. I would recommend Dom and Oakes to anyone looking for a new Kia in mid Missouri. They got a great selection of used vehicles too. Including our end of lease EV9 with brand new tires!

We had a really great experience buying our car. My husband is very picky, but Dominic was super patient and went above and beyond to help us get exactly the car we wanted. He even went to another dealership to get it for us, which we really appreciated. Carlos in finance was also a big help—he worked with us to get the monthly payment where we wanted it. Working with Bryan was great. He was super personable and made everything super quick and easy! I would 1000% work with Bryan again and recommend anyone I know to work with him! Lyric was very nice and knowledgeable. My only feedback is it felt like meeting with him took forever. It was already 7pm and I sat in his office for over an hour, which made me get home super late in the evening. I feel like the process definitely could be sped up.

We went to another dealership looking for a deal on a car, we were going to go with a telluride (over what we wanted to pay) and then we had a call from a salesman called dominic, he wanted to get us a better deal and found us one that fit perfectly in our regime AND fit our rubric. The finance manager- lyric, had found us a deal on a warranty that had saved us tons of money and kept it right around what we wanted to pay a month. The new car came with a full tank of gas, added features, and it was detailed/cleaned before we were sent home. This place has also helped out our family by helping repair a blown engine on a car under a good warranty. Would recommend, this was a great experience and they managed to do all of this within an hour.

Not as impressed with Chris, though, as he completely changed his attitude towards me when I didn’t purchase the extended warranty. I had told him I was already part of Oakes VIP, that I didn’t want the extended, he went ahead and laid it all out for me, which I appreciated, but in the end I wasn’t going to increase my payment over $100 a month for a glorified GPS and roadside, which I already have. He seemed to become frustrated after declining and he became short and silent. At the beginning of the conversation he seemed to know about my GAP refund from my previous car, but towards the end, he all of a sudden had no information for me. Never had an issue with any other finance personnel there though, as I have been a customer since 2019.

Oakes Kia has been great to work with since I started going there in March 2023. Recently, when my motor went out, Jarrod Bolling contacted Kia a get it replaced. I had to wait a couple of days for a response and Jarrod communicated with me until the decision was made that they would not replace the motor because it was not knocking. Before contacting my extended warranty company, Jarrod requested that the technician do every test on the motor that could be done. He then contacted my extended warranty company. He had to wait for an inspector to get to the shop to look at the motor before it could be approved for replacement. I then had to wait for a decision. In both instances, Jarrod was great at following up with Kia, with the extended warranty company and letting me know what he learned. My car was towed to the shop on January 12 and I got it back January 30. For all of that time Jarrod was in contact with me. There are other instances I could mention where exceptional service was provided, but I think it is evident why I am giving Oakes Kia five stars. It is my opinion that Jarrod went above and beyond his performance as a Service Advisor. I am so happy to have my car back and most of all, I did not have to purchase a new one. For me, that is BIG. Thank you Jarrod and Oakes Kia!!

We worked with Bailey Boggs to purchase my first ever brand new car - a snazzy 2026 Kia Sorento Hybrid. We had visited a couple other dealerships to narrow down our preferred make/model. Oakes Kia had a large inventory that allowed us to mix/match features until we found the right fit. I'm a methodical person who takes time to compare things and process big decisions - so I really appreciated that Bailey never made us feel rushed or pressured. She took the time to explain everything in detail and make sure we were comfortable with our decisions (vehicle, cost, financing options, etc.). She even helped keep my tag-along toddler entertained. You may not get the flashy, luxurious feel that other Kia dealerships may have - but you will get great customer service, professional and polite staff, and honest answers.

This was by far the best experience I have ever had purchasing a new car. We didn’t have an appointment and when greeted by Travis he inquired as to whom our appointment was with, do we need one we asked and he said nope let’s see what we can do for you. I had done a ton of research and knew what I did and didn’t want. He listened made suggestions and showed us a few different options. We decided on the Sorento. Go see Travis he listens and is very knowledgeable about his inventory and isn’t out to make $$ off of you, he keeps your best interest in mind during your whole visit! We went to another dealership looking for a deal on a car, we were going to go with a telluride (over what we wanted to pay) and then we had a call from a salesman called dominic, he wanted to get us a better deal and found us one that fit perfectly in our regime AND fit our rubric. The finance manager- lyric, had found us a deal on a warranty that had saved us tons of money and kept it right around what we wanted to pay a month. The new car came with a full tank of gas, added features, and it was detailed/cleaned before we were sent home. This place has also helped out our family by helping repair a blown engine on a car under a good warranty. Would recommend, this was a great experience and they managed to do all of this within an hour.

My car was towed to the shop on January 12 and I got it back January 30. For all of that time Jarrod was in contact with me. There are other instances I could mention where exceptional service was provided, but I think it is evident why I am giving Oakes Kia five stars. It is my opinion that Jarrod went above and beyond his performance as a Service Advisor. I am so happy to have my car back and most of all, I did not have to purchase a new one. For me, that is BIG. Thank you Jarrod and Oakes Kia!!

Overall good experience with dealership. Only downfall was pushy Finance Manager that told me Kia offers 3 years, 36000 miles B2B warranty - not accurate. I had to tell her no 10 times that I wasn’t interested in an extended warranty & then she wanted me to explain why. Not professional.

We worked with Bailey Boggs to purchase my first ever brand new car - a snazzy 2026 Kia Sorento Hybrid. We had visited a couple other dealerships to narrow down our preferred make/model. Oakes Kia had a large inventory that allowed us to mix/match features until we found the right fit. I'm a methodical person who takes time to compare things and process big decisions - so I really appreciated that Bailey never made us feel rushed or pressured. She took the time to explain everything in detail and make sure we were comfortable with our decisions (vehicle, cost, financing options, etc.). She even helped keep my tag-along toddler entertained. You may not get the flashy, luxurious feel that other Kia dealerships may have - but you will get great customer service, professional and polite staff, and honest answers.

I have had nothing but great experiences at Oakes Kia! My salesperson offered to 3D print a cover for the start/stop button so my cat doesn't step on it, and the finance manager was very helpful and thorough in explaining all of my options to me!

This was by far the best experience I have ever had purchasing a new car. We didn’t have an appointment and when greeted by Travis he inquired as to whom our appointment was with, do we need one we asked and he said nope let’s see what we can do for you. I had done a ton of research and knew what I did and didn’t want. He listened made suggestions and showed us a few different options. We decided on the Sorento. Go see Travis he listens and is very knowledgeable about his inventory and isn’t out to make $$ off of you, he keeps your best interest in mind during your whole visit! We finished our visit with Karen in financing and she knows her job and does everything she can to help you protect your investment. Thanks Oakes KIA for being a first class establishment!!
